He Started With Cashews. He Built a Business on Trust.
In 1974, Jaysukh Kakkad began roasting cashews at home in Kandivali. There was no big kitchen or expensive equipment. He made his own small oven using bricks and coal, and started with what he had.
At first, he supplied roasted cashews to other businesses. Over the years came homemade sweets, chikki, kaju katli and a growing range of dry fruit specialities. The first retail shop followed in the 1990s.
As the business grew, his belief remained simple: customers should know that care has gone into what they eat. That is why J.K. Sweets pays close attention to ingredients and offers a wide range of sweets made without milk or mawa, alongside other clearly identified products.
For Jaysukh Kakkad, good sweets are important. Earning a customer's trust is even more important.
